A few years ago, Ferg revealed that he was no longer part of the ASAP Mob. Since then, people have asked Rocky on seperate occasions how he felt about that, with his sentiment boiling down to the move bothering him, but there was no bad blood.
However, rarely have we heard Ferg’s perspective.
The issue came up again when Rocky sat down with Jason Lee, dishing on his current feelings.
“That hurt me too,” Rocky said. “Ferg wanted to get out of his deal, and I gracefully helped him do that. And we knew each other before there was a group. He was making belts and t-shirts and sold belts to Swizz Beats and Jim Jones, and didn’t wanna rap no more. Me and Bari outside like ‘bro come on,’ and he like, ‘nah, I got tunnel vision.’ But after I got signed, opposed to him being my partner, now he my artist, so I’m guessing he always felt in the shadow of me or like I was big homieing him. That’s not the case. So for me to be in the first day of my trial and hearing he dropped ASAP from his name, but when I look on Apple, Spotify, Instagram it still say ASAP Ferg. So why you in interviews going so hard about how you dropped your name.
Lee then asked about the last time they spoke.
“I ain’t talked to Ferg in a minute,” Rocky said. “[His interview] was after Yams day, then I’m going on trial, it just felt like some sucka s***. I don’t got no bad blood towards Ferg, we could hash it out, he never stabbed me in the back too crazy. He got a funny way of moving but, it is what it is.”
Ferg responds to Rocky being "bothered" by him dropping A$AP from his name and moving away from the mob:

Ferg Responds
During a sit down with Ashley Nicole Moss, Ferg opened up about dropping his name, insisting that it wasn’t a big deal.
“I feel like that’s a personal thing for him [to be upset],” Ferg said. “You can feel how you wanna feel, but at the end of the day, I gotta follow my truth. I’m just going back to who I am, we’re grown. Let me show people what Ferg is about.”
Ferg also says he has ASAP tatted on him, but wants to follow his own dreams.
Fans were quick to point out that the issue isn’t Ferg wanting to be his own person, it’s how he seemingly used the promo of leaving the Mob to boost himself, in a sense, turning his back on the people he came up with.
The timing was peculiar, as Ferg’s decision to drop the name came on the first day of Rocky’s infamous Sweden trial.
