Fetty Wap has been released from federal prison after serving more than three years behind bars.
On Thursday (Jan. 8), video surfaced showing the newly freed rapper in a conference room surrounded by several people, briefly discussing his return. Fetty also shared an official statement expressing gratitude and outlining his plans moving forward.
“I want to thank my family, friends, and fans for the love, prayers, and continued support—it truly means everything to me,” Fetty said. He added that his focus is now on giving back through community initiatives and his foundation, with an emphasis on supporting at-risk youth by expanding access to education, early technology skills, and vision care.
Fetty Wap pleaded guilty in August 2022 to conspiracy to distribute and possess controlled substances tied to a multi-state drug trafficking operation following his 2021 arrest. He was sentenced to 72 months in May 2023 but has served roughly 40 months of that term.
With his release, Fetty appears ready to hit the ground running—this time with a renewed sense of purpose and a commitment to making a meaningful impact beyond music.
