Fetty Wap, the rap sensation behind hits like “My Way” and “Trap Queen,” has spent the last three years behind bars. But the hitmaker could be coming home sooner than fans expected.

Fetty Wap Gets Earlier Prison Release Date

According to a new report from US Weekly, Fetty’s release date has been bumped up by nearly two months. The rap star was initially scheduled to be released on March 13, 2027. However, per records obtained by the outlet, he is now scheduled for release on January 8, 2027.

In May 2023, the rap star was sentenced to six years in prison after being swooped up by the feds in a drug trafficking ring in October 2021.

In April, the rap star’s sister, Divinity Maxwell-Butts, demanded that Fetty be released from prison immediately.

“My brother has taken responsibility and served over half his sentence for a nonviolent offense,” she wrote through his Instagram account. “He is scheduled to be released in 2027, but justice should also mean mercy.”

However, despite multiple pleas for an earlier release coming from the people who are the closest to him, Fetty has accepted his fate and taken accountability for the role he has played in the dilemma he is now facing. And understands that these are just the consequences that come with it.

“I take accountability for everything I did. I won’t be blaming anybody for anything. It ain’t nobody else’s fault that I’m here,” he said in a 2023 Interview with XXL.

“However, it may have gone down, whatever, like with the people and all that, basically, just not standing tall. But at the end of the day, that’s my fault for involving myself with people like that. And putting your trust in the people that’s not really real, that’s not really who they say they are. So, my whole thing is like, man, just stop fuckin’ with n****s, man. That’s how I feel.”
