Rap artist Finesse2Tymes is ready to be a free man. At least when it comes to his music career.

Finesse2Tymes Demands Release From Mob Ties

In a video posted to his social media account on New Year’s Day (January 1), the rapper expressed to label executive, J Prince Jr, that he wants to be released from his music label, Mob Ties.

“Aye, Junior, I want out of my contract, too. I don’t want to be Mob Ties no more,” the Backend creator started (Via SayCheese/X). “I want my own s**t. Let me go, Junior. We done already made all the money we can make. I don’t want to go to another label with you.”

The rap artist also made it clear that there are no sour feelings on his end. He even expressed the “love” that he has for him. But Finess2Tymes says he is ready to branch off from Mob Ties and be an independent artist.

“I love you. But I no longer want to be Mob Ties, business-wise. I love all the Mob Ties street n***as. It’s time for me [with] a new look, Junior… I’m done with that contract, bruh,” he said.

Rapper Cites Lack of Music as Reason For Demand

Many artists have elected to go the independent route. And it makes sense on the business side. Without a label, there is less promotion, but artists also get to keep a lot more of the money in-house. But it especially makes sense for Finess2Tymes. He claims that he has not really made any money during his time with the label. Citing a lack of music being dropped.

“We ain’t made no money. I’ve been with you for four years. We ain’t dropped nothing but two projects,” the rapper concluded. “Mob Ties ain’t hitting on nothing with the music s**t. I’m 33 years old. Let me go to somebody that’s gon let me motherf***ing get me 10, 15, 20 Ms out of this s**t. If you want some money out of this s**t, f**k it, cool. You can get some money out of this s**t. I ain’t tripping. But let me go make my money. It’s over with. We’re done. He’s more than motherf***ing able.”
