Lil Wayne, Teyana Taylor, Glorilla, Playboi Carti, and Leon Thomas are booked to light up the stage when the show goes live from Los Angeles on Monday, June 9.

“We’re setting the tone for a night that celebrates 25 years of impact, creativity, and Black culture,” said Connie Orlando, EVP of Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy at BET. “With electrifying performances and an iconic comedic host, this year’s show is going to be unmissable.”

BET Booked to Hold Tribute for ‘106 & Park’

And just when you thought it couldn’t get better — boom — a full-blown 106 & Park reunion is happening. The iconic show turns 25 too, and BET’s honoring it with a tribute segment directed by Teyana Taylor and The Aunties Production. Expect a blast of early-2000s nostalgia as AJ, Free, Julissa, Keshia Chanté, Rocsi, and Terrence J hit the stage alongside throwback performances from Bow Wow, Amerie, B2K, Jim Jones, Mya, T.I., and more.

BET President Scott Mills put it best while summing up the hit program’s impact in a statement via Billboard.

106 & Park was more than just a music countdown show — it was the heartbeat of Black youth culture and one of the highest-rated BET programs for over a decade. From Freestyle Friday to unforgettable live performances, it launched careers, influenced fashion, and became a platform where voices, style, and sound converged. 106 & Park both celebrated and fueled many of the most important musical and cultural evolutions that occurred during its two-and-a-half-decade tenure.”

As for the awards themselves, Kendrick Lamar leads the pack with 10 nominations. Doechii, Drake, Future, and GloRilla follow with six each. Metro Boomin racks up five nods, while SZA and The Weeknd are tied with four.

And don’t blink — more performers and surprises are surely to come.
