The gold medal glow hasn’t faded for Team USA’s women’s hockey squad — and now they’ve got a Las Vegas victory lap on deck, courtesy of hip-hop’s patron saint of women’s sports, Flavor Flav.
The United States women’s national ice hockey team is slated to be honored during Flav’s upcoming “She Got Game” weekend, set for July 16–19 in Las Vegas. The event, organized in partnership with The GIST and MGM Resorts International, will celebrate the team’s gold medal run at the 2026 Winter Olympics, alongside other standout female athletes.
Flav confirmed the gathering via a repost on X, and forward Alex Carpenter sounded ready for whatever spectacle awaits, saying the team plans to “fully take advantage of that and go have some fun.” Whether all 23 rostered players will make the trip remains uncertain due to scheduling conflicts.
Flav took his support a step further, launching a GoFundMe aimed at bolstering the women’s program following its Olympic triumph. The rapper has also been using his platform to spotlight individual players’ needs. Earlier this week, he called attention to Team USA forward Kelly Pannek, whose car was recently totaled, publicly urging auto brands to step in with sponsorship support.
While the full scope of “She Got Game” weekend is still coming into focus, Flav’s growing résumé as women’s sports benefactor continues to expand.
