The federal trial of Bad Boy Record founder Sean “Diddy” Combs, has led to dozens of witness testimonies from several prominent figures. But for as many bone-chilling testimonies that have been heard, there have been omissions that are equally as significant. One of those omissions was former Danity Kane artist, Aubrey O’Day.
Aubrey O’Day Explains Why She Didn’t Testify Against Diddy
O’Day was grilled about her decision to not testify in a recent interview with E! News.
And though she did give a response, she didn’t delve deep into her decision to not testify. She just noted that it wasn’t something that she had a “wish” to do.
“I don’t wish for things like testifying in a federal trial,” O’Day said. “I wish for inner peace and a really good boba tea.”
The former R&B star also added that she never expected to be subpoenaed for her testimony. “This wouldn’t be a situation in which I’m meant to speak… Because these are specific crimes.”
To bring things up to speed, Combs is being charged as the leader of a sex trafficking ring that spanned for over two decades. And while O’Day said that she had a wish to testify, she also said that she hoped to see “justice” for the crimes that she knows are true.
“So, justice for me in this setting, I would like to see all of the crimes that I know are true, for him to serve time for all of those, personally,” she said.
The former Danity Kane star also said she would like to see justice on a professional level from the prosecution. For them to prove Diddy’s crimes beyond a reasonable doubt.
“Professionally, I would like the prosecution to have done such an incredible job that nobody had any questions right now,” she concluded. “ So I would like to see a world in which they connected the dots. I’d like to see them bring home the charges that they indicted him.”
The jury is scheduled to begin deliberating in Combs’ trial on Monday (June 30).
