Rap artist Freddie Gibbs has seen enough of Dallas Mavericks big man Anthony Davis. He had a blunt message for the All-Star big man in a recent social media post.
Freddie Gibbs Wants Anthony Davis to ‘Retire’ After Latest Injury
Following the latest injury news about Davis, a graphic from a social media account showed Davis’s extensive injury rap sheet during his Dallas tenure. Despite being there for less than a year. With Davis’ struggles to stay on the court this season, Gibbs thinks it’s time for the Mavericks star to hang it up.
“Man, just retire,” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Friday night (January 9).
Many of the fans in the comments section of the post also agreed that it may be time for the former number one overall pick to hang up his jersey.
“I hate to say it, but you’re right, dude, and I love AD s**t hurts me to watch him go through this,” one fan wrote.
“Bruh just be having injuries I never even heard of,” another user chimed in.
“Always Disabled,” a third user said.

The latest injury for Davis is a torn ligament in his left hand. An injury that he suffered during the Mavericks’ loss to the Utah Jazz on Thursday Night (January 8).
It occurred during what seemed to be a routine collision with Jazz big man Lauri Markkanen. But on Friday, ESPN NBA Insider Shams Charania revealed that Davis suffered the injury. One that could potentially sideline the Mavericks’ big man for several months. However, Charania also notes that Davis is expected to get a second opinion to see if the injury will require surgery. But even if he were to avoid surgery, the injury would still sideline him for “six weeks.”
The injury could not come at a more inopportune time for Dallas. They are currently 2.5 games behind the Memphis Grizzlies for that 10th and final play-in spot.
