In a short time, Gelo has already made quite a mark in the music industry. He has already performed at two of the biggest sporting events of the year (NFL Playoffs and NBA All-Star Weekend) and was also on the main stage at this year’s Rolling Loud, one of the biggest music festivals of the year. In addition, he has already secured a lucrative music deal with industry giant Def Jam which is reportedly over $13 million.

Gelo Appears to Reignite Cam’ron Beef in XXL Freestyle

Most recently, Gelo was named a 2025 XXL Freshman. And as part of the honor, the Tweaker creator dropped his XXL Freshman Freestyle. Gelo kicks off the freestyle by saying “Keep your m******uckin mouth zipped up. And f**k a podcaster,” which fans speculated was a shot at rapper turned podcaster, Cam’ron, who hosts It Is What It Is.

Gelo and Cam exchanged words earlier this year. Cam had aimed at his basketball skills on an episode of his podcast which led Gelo to believe that he is a “colder” rapper than Cam ever was.

After hearing what Gelo had to say, Cam’ron doubled down on his criticism of the oldest Ball brother. Appearing to note that his recent comments are a result of him developing the brain disease, CTE.

“I never seen a basketball player or rapper with CTE. There’s no other way to explain it … I’ve never seen it before. I thought it was a boxing or football thing. But obviously rappers, basketball players can get it too,” the famed artist said on an episode of It is What It Is.

“Why do n—-s keep moving the goalpost? We said you’re not a professional basketball player. I don’t understand how n—–s keep switching, I never said he couldn’t rap. I didn’t even know he did rap … And we can tell how quickly he switched his occupation.

Cam’ron has not yet responded to Gelo’s freestyle. It will be interesting to see if he does.
