George Floyd’s Family Reportedly ‘Disgusted’ With Roast Joke

According to a Tuesday (May 11) report from TMZ, Floyd’s family is “appalled” by the joke. And a rep for their Gianna and George Floyd Foundation, told the outlet that Hinchcliffe’s joke was “sad for the culture.” And also put Kevin Hart on the hot seat for condoning the joke. Adding that they were “disgusted” and “baffled.”
They also added:
“We are trying to rebuild things for our community and make things better in our community. Let’s try to be a little bit more positive — and not sit up there doing colon inspections by white comedians.”
George Floyd was a victim of police brutality. After Minnesota police officer Derek Chauvin infamously knelt on Floyd’s neck for nearly eight minutes, causing him to pass away from lack of oxygen. Chauvin was found guilty of second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter in April 2021, resulting in a 22.5-year sentence.
Kevin Hart appeared to hit back at the backlash following the roast in a social media post.
“That, my friend, is what the f**k a roast is supposed to be — hard-hitting, relentless jokes,” the comedia said.
However, he has not directly responded to the remarks made by Floyd’s family.
