Rappers turned sports talk show hosts, Cam’ron and Mase, have rustled the feathers of yet another athlete. This time, it is boxing star Gervonta Davis who has taken issue with the New York City Natives.
Gervonta Davis Calls Out Cam’ron & Mase
After the two former rappers made some disparaging remarks about the former boxing champ, Tank took to social media to call them out.
“Ask Coach Cam’ron how does his throat feel?” Davis wrote on social media, as heard through AllHipHop.
A fan on social media alerted the boxing star that Mase was also talking about him, to which Tank responded that he would “pull up to that show and beat the s**t out of [Mase]”.
Cam’ron, Mase, & Tank Beef Explained
The entire feud began during a recent taping of Cam’ron and Mase’s podcast, It is What It Is. In the aftermath of the draw between Lamont Roach and Pitbull Cruz’s draw this past weekend, the show Moderator, Treasure Wilson, asked the two co-hosts if Tank should face the winner of their forthcoming rematch. That is when Ma$e and Cam’ron went scorched earth on Davis.
The two started by noting that Tank backed out of a scheduled rematch with Roach, and instead opted to sign a contract to face social media star Jake Paul in an exhibition matchup.
That match, of course, was cancelled after Davis found himself facing more assault charges. An October report from ESPN revealed that Davis’ ex-girlfriend Courtney Rossel filed a civil lawsuit against him. Where she accused the boxing star of “battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping and intentional infliction of emotional distress.”
However, their quips did not stop there. They also noted how they both felt that Tank did not defeat Roach in their previous matchup. Despite him being named the winner by majority decision. They continued by adding that they felt that Tank’s star power played a major part in the judge’s decision.
They continued with other jabs, such as Shakur Stevenson being a better boxer and even insinuating that a retired Floyd Mayweather could give Davis problems in 2025. Big Yikes.
To this point, Cam’ron and Mase have not responded to Gervonta’s comments.
