GLC Tells Chicago Radio “Kanye West Equated Success By Being Accepted By The White Masses”

If you live long enough many people will experience the moment when you and some of the friends you grew up with grow apart. Some people choose different paths in life and welcome others into their lives that pull them in a different direction. GLC was one of Kanye West’s friends growing up and Kanye’s mother Donda West was like a mother to him. He describes her as their beacon of light. GLC in this interview “The Chicago Morning Takeover” describes when he lost his childhood friend to Hollywood.

GLC states that he and Kanye used to laugh at artist that lost their way and it hurt him to see his friend go down the same path. He even mentions shedding tears realizing the moment that he could no longer talk sense into Kanye as he once did, because of handlers being in the way presently. GLC says that Kanye is becoming what he has surrounded himself by. He also mentions that Kanye has always equated success by being accepted by the white masses. Hopefully these two childhood friends will be able to meet in the middle sometime in the near future.
