Rap star Glorilla broke the internet on Thursday, July 24, after it was discovered that she had recently been arrested for drug possession. According to PEOPLE, the CMG artist was arrested in Georgia on Tuesday, July 22, after police found a “significant amount” of marijuana as well as a “controlled substance.”
Glorilla Claps Back at Critics Following Arrest
To add insult to injury, the police found the drugs after responding to a burglary that had happened at her home.
Following the news of her arrest, several people were critical of Glorilla being charged with drug possession. Many assumed that the drugs belonged to her because they were found in her home.
But the “Glorious” creator was sure to clear the air about what happened during the entire debacle. And revealed that she was not even at home when the intruders broke in.
“CRAZY My House got Home Invaded Saturday While I was in Indianapolis performing for the WNBA all star game & instead of focusing on finding the Suspects, they focus on some cannabis,” Glorilla wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
She also added:
1. So, no, I wasn’t busted
2. My house got robbed
3. I wasn’t home
Long story short, my house gets home invaded, and I’m the only one who gets arrested. So that’s tea.
Of course, fans had a lot to say in response to her post on social media.
“Did no one tell you black people don’t go to Forsyth County? It is a sundown town,” one fan said.
“Girl, u need to move out of there cuz now they’re gonna target you,” another user added.
“Being robbed and then you end up arrested is insane… that’s not right,” a third user said.
As for the burglary, Forsyth police released a statement in the aftermath that noted a home invasion was in progress when an “occupant” of the home “fired” at the intruders, who then fled the scene. However, from what they could gather, it does not appear that any of the suspects were hit.
