Gucci Mane appeared on The Breakfast Club on Monday (October 20) in one of the more vulnerable interviews we have seen from the rap star.
Gucci Mane Expresses Embarrassment Over Past Comments
One of the things he addressed was the comments that he made about Drake, Rick Ross, and Nicki Minaj in a past social media rant. It is something that the rap star says he was “super embarrassed” by.
“I was super embarrassed and hurt by the things I said because I wasn’t well then, right, then I got locked up,” he said.
The rap star also expressed that he initially wanted to make things right immediately. But his incarceration foiled those plans. And with three years having elapsed since the rant, he feared that Ross, Drake, and Nicki would not be as receptive to his apologies. But fortunately, they were.
And Gucci says that in itself was a “weight off [his] shoulders.”
Gucci Mane admits he felt "embarrassed" after calling out Drake, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, and others in a series of tweets during a mental health episode. He says it was a huge relief when they accepted his apology:

Keyshia Ka’oir Details How She Manages Rap Star’s Episodes
Gucci Mane is amid the rollout of his new book, Episodes. And during his appearance on the radio show, the rap star revealed that he deals with schizophrenia. This can often make him go through these episodes where he goes on rants targeting other people.
When asked about how he and his wife manage his episodes now, Ka’oir said that priority number one is to take the rap star’s phone away from him.
“I take his apps off his phone,” Ka’oir explains. “First thing I do, I delete Instagram. I delete everything. Even if I got to change his password, I’m changing it because I don’t need the public to know he’s having an episode. You realize you’d never know about any other episode since Sept. 13 because I control that. You’re not going on Instagram, you’re not going on Twitter, it’s deleted. I just control everything at home.”
She also added that she has gotten better at catching the episodes before they happen, so that she is more prepared to manage them. Or even prevent it.
“Now, before the episodes come, I catch it,” Ka’oir continued. “So that’s why he hasn’t had another one. And how you catch that is he doesn’t speak to you. He wants to be left alone, he doesn’t eat, he does not sleep. Text messages. There’s a period after each word. And I’m like, ‘You’re going through an episode. You’re sick.’ ‘No, I’m not. Ain’t nothing wrong with me. Why do you think that?’ ‘You’re not speaking to me.’ ‘Well, there’s nothing to talk about.’ I said, ‘Well, that’s not how you speak to your wife.’ And I’m like, ‘You’re sick.’ And we snap out of it right then.”
