Police swarmed the area outside Chris Brown ‘s Los Angeles home Friday afternoon after reports of gunfire erupted near the property.
According to reports, officers responded to the Tarzana neighborhood around 4 p.m. after a woman called authorities claiming a man had fired at her vehicle during an altercation. She reportedly described the suspect as a Black male in his mid-30s.
Sources say the suspect told officers the dispute began after the woman allegedly refused to leave the area, sparking an argument. He then claimed the situation escalated when she drove over his foot with her car.
That’s when, according to reports, the suspect allegedly fired at the vehicle.
The man was taken into custody at the scene and later arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism.
Officials confirmed the person arrested was not Chris Brown, and the singer was not believed to be home at the time. Authorities noted the incident happened on the street outside the residence—not inside the home or on the actual property.
At this time, there’s no indication that Brown was directly involved in the dispute.
The incident arrives just as the two-time Grammy winner is building anticipation for his upcomin major tour run alongside Usher.
