It has been a summer full of anticipated releases. And Gunna is the latest artist to throw his hat in the ring. The rap star released his new album, The Last Wun, on Friday, August 8.
Gunna Appears to Clap Back at Young Thug on New Album
Gunna’s had some interesting lyrics on the song, Prototype. This is likely Gunna’s last album under the Young Stoner Life (YSL) label. And on one of the songs, Prototype, he appears to call out the label boss Young Thug over a deleted tweet.
“N***** tweeted my name. Must have been a typo,” he raps in the song.
Gunna appears to be referencing a post and delete by Young Thug in 2024, where he called him out for his involvement in the YSL RICO trial.
“Gunna stop acting like we’re friends on the internet. I don’t know you, my guy,” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, last November.
Thug has since deleted the post from his profile.

Young Thug also appeared to call out Gunna on his feature verse on Future’s song Money on Money which dropped in April. On the track, Gunna appears to be the subject of Young Thug’s attack when he speaks about friends who switched sides on him.
“These f**k n****s tellin’ for nothin’, and I gotta be the one callin’ ’em friends,” he raps on the song’s hook.
He later raps: Brother, you a rat (My brother).”
As well as: “Twin, you’re a rat, you smoked, uh.”
Gunna was a part of the initial indictment when the feds swept up several YSL affiliates in July 2022. But he only spent about six months behind bars. He entered an Alford plea. Under such an agreement, Gunna admitted guilt while also maintaining his innocence, allowing him to be released.
Thug, on the other hand, spent about two and a half years behind bars before ultimately being released on a 15-year probation sentence.
