Lil Wayne, Hot Boyz Leave Birdman Hanging
During a recent show, Birdman got on the mic to pay homage to his son Lil Wayne. One would expect Wayne to be grateful but instead, Weezy and the rest of the hot boys were nearly off the stage by the time Birdman finished his speech.
Wayne can even be heard faintly on the mic telling Birdman to wrap it up saying “aight, aight.”
Birdman and Lil Wayne’s relationship has been under the microscope in previous years. In 2017 he sued Universal along with Birdman’s Cash Money, accusing the two entities of conspiring to withhold his profits.
Rap Star Appeared to Be Asleep on Stage
This isn’t the first time that Birdman has been involved in an on-stage controversy recently. Earlier this month, fans became concerned when the Like Father, Like Son artist appeared to be falling asleep on stage during a Hot Boyz show. Mainly because the sluggishness is a side effect of taking the street drug “lean.”
Following the viral video, Hot Boyz member Turk weighed in on the situation noting that it had been blown out of proportion.
“I don’t know what be going on, man,” Turk said during a recent interview on B High ATL. “I be on that mu*******a having Turk fun. In Turk’s world doing what I’m doing. They gonna always turn something into something that ain’t, you know what I’m saying? We have different little moments where we have to look down and see what’s going on.”
The famed Hot Boyz member noted that oftentimes on stage, Birdman is not even aware of what he is doing. So to the untrained eye, his actions can be perceived as something different. Turk also added that even despite the backlash and concern, Birdman is the type of person who will go and do the same thing again.
“Baby don’t give a f**k. Baby come right back out there the next day and talk some s**t again,” Turk added. “See, they put what they want to put out there. He came and he talked, and he talked his s**t again, you know, the next show.”
