Rap stars Ice Spice and Latto’s feud was one of the more high-profile female rap feuds in recent years.
Ice Spice Downplays Past Feud With Latto
Despite an apparent feud escalating to the main stage, Ice Spice insists that there was never any “real beef” between her and Latto.
“What made me want to squash it… It wasn’t any real beef to begin with, to be honest,” she said during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen (via XXL).
The two artists appeared to settle any past differences they may have had when they linked up on their single “Gyatt” earlier this year. Ice Spice said that despite their complicated past, the mood on the set of the video was completely normal.
“My favorite part of shooting the video was that the whole video was so fun. Everybody was just joking around the whole time, to the point where, like… I remember my manager was like, ‘Can y’all wrap it up? Like, hurry up.’ It was really fun. Shoutout to Latto.”
However, many fans in the comments section were not buying her story.
“Once she fell out with Nicki, now she and LATTO never had real beef,” one fan wrote in the comments section of the social media post.
“She was being a follower,” a second user added.
“It’s sad because Nicki ruined so many relationships,” a third user chimed in, citing Ice’s relationship with rap star Nicki Minaj as a reason.
Despite Ice Spice downplaying their beef, history proves otherwise. The two threw a series of jabs at each other in the booth and on social media. Ice Spice appeared to target Latto on her song “Fart,” and Latto appeared to clap back at her on her single “Sunday Service.” The video was filmed in Ice Spice’s hometown of the Bronx, New York. It also didn’t help that the two had differing allegiances in the industry. Latto had a close relationship with Cardi B, and Ice Spice was linked to Nicki Minaj. However, all of that appears to be in the past now.
