Rapper iHeartMemphis is set to face a judge this month after racking up some major charges recently, including an incident that sent police on a wild chase.
The “Hit the Quan” artist, born Richard Colbert, was arrested on Feb. 18 in Florida — just days after being released over a separate case involving alleged threats to kill and obstruction.
According to court docs, cops were called to his Ft. Lauderdale-area neighborhood after he allegedly blocked off a street using traffic cones, tree branches, and cinder blocks. Officers told Memphis to clear the area but said he refused before running away while they attempted to detain him.
Authorities claim Colbert led them on a wild chase — hopping fences, running through backyards, and even trying to get inside multiple homes. He was eventually tracked down and taken into custody. Before heading to jail, he was treated at a hospital for a cut on his leg.
IHeartMemphis now facing 3 felony burglary charges, plus misdemeanors for resisting arrest and blocking a roadway. On top of that, he was also hit with another charge tied to alleged threats made days later.
Colbert has pleaded not guilty and is demanding a trial. He’s still locked up and due in court April 14.
Police say they were called to his home multiple times in February — including a previous SWAT standoff that raised concerns about his mental health.
