J. Cole was a recent guest on Cam’ron’s podcast, Talk With Flee. And during his appearance, Cole confronted Cam about the Diplomats leader slapping him with a lawsuit over their 2022 track “Ready 24.”
J. Cole, Cam’ron Address ‘Ready 24’ Lawsuit
Cole says that after being served the lawsuit, he was initially upset. But he says that after reflecting on how they had arrived at that point, he understood the move.
“When the lawsuit came out, I was like, ‘Come on Cam,'” Cole said (via Kurrco/X). “My ego reaction is like, quietly, I’m like, ‘fuck this n****.’ But quickly I’m like, ‘Nah, I get it though.'”
In October 2025, Cam brought legal action against the creator of The Fall Off. Claiming breach of contract regarding his feature on the song Ready 24. Cam’ron alleges that in exchange for his 2022 verse, Cole promised to appear on his podcast, It Is What It Is, or collaborate on a future song, which he says never occurred. And sought recoupment to the tune of $500,000.
Cam says that he never really intended to go through with the lawsuit. But it became apparent that was the only way he was really going to get J. Cole’s attention.
“Of course it was never gonna go anywhere, but for me it was like, ‘I need to get this n**** attention,'” he said.

The exchange went viral, which, of course, led to a lot of reactions on social media.
“Cole really mature, and I wish a lot of people would learn to wait a second, breathe, look at it from another person’s perspective,” one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“J. Cole should’ve just talked to Cam’Ron when he was reaching out to him. Avoiding Cam for so long just shows bad business and etiquette,” a second user added.
Good to see that the two rappers were able to finally make peace.
