J. Cole Opens Up About Next Career Move
Following the release of the project, fans want to know what’s next for the rap star. During a sit-down interview with Apple Music’s Nadeseka, Cole gave fans a sneak peek of what’s next for him. He noted that he is currently in an “inspired place.” But added that he isn’t sure if that inspiration is for making new music. And hinted at getting more into the production side of things.
“I don’t know what it is, I ain’t gon’ lie. I’m inspired. I’m in an inspired place. But not necessarily to make an album, you know what I mean?” he started (via HotNewHipHop/X). “I want to produce. If my pen is still inspired, I would love to do a verse here and there. But I definitely don’t feel like I felt two years ago, where I was like, ‘Man, let’s just get this s**t out and be over with.’ I feel the opposite of that. I wish I had more time to dive in and work, basically.”
Cole also added, “You know what I mean? I’m kind of in a life mode right now where I’m back on my normal life schedule. But I’m looking forward to those moments of diving back in. And I don’t know what will come out, you know what I mean?”
Cole has experience with building up talent. His Dreamville record label roster consisted of top acts such as JID and Ari Lennox. So if production is truly his next passion, he has already gotten a head start. It will be interesting to see what the rap star chooses to venture into next.
