Ja Rule and 50 Cent have the longest-running rap beef in history. The origin of their feud began in 1999 after Ja had his jewelry taken by one of 50’s associates during a video shoot. From that point, the two would engage in a history of violent attacks against each other.
Ja Rule Claims He Was A “Better Rapper” Than 50 Cent
50 Cent has unquestionably had the more prominent career. Even though there is still smoke between the two, Ja said that he has come to appreciate 50 as an artist. However, even though 50 has had the better career on the charts, Ja Rule says that he still thinks he was a “better rapper” than 50 because his records have withstood the test of time.
“You got to love both, you got to respect both, you got to appreciate both,” Ja said during a recent appearance on 7 pm in Brooklyn. “My take is unpopular. I feel like I was the better rapper. Feel like I made better records. I feel like my records aged better; that’s how I feel inside. I don’t know how everybody else feels. The reality is that it’s whatever you want it to be.”

Although many fans perceive there to be some huge dropoff between 50 Cent and Ja Rule’s careers, they have both sold over 30 million records globally.
Even though Ja and 50 have pretty much moved on from the music scene, from time to time, they will still engage in a war of words. Following the death of Ja Rule’s close friend Irv Gotti, earlier this year, 50 took to social media to clown his former nemesis. As he posted a photo in a hookah lounge, stating that he was “smoking on that Irv Gotti” pack. However, during an interview with The Breakfast Club after the fact, Ja Rule said that he chose not to react because of personal growth, but did consider going “nuclear” on the rap star.
Even though the beef between the two seems to be ongoing, Ja seems to have turned over a new leaf.
