As a pillar of the industry, Gotti’s passing sent shockwaves through the hip-hop community. However, not everyone was sad about his passing. Following the news 50 Cent took to Instagram and posted a picture in a hookah lounge with the caption “smoking on that Gotti pack.”

Ja Rule Almost ‘Went Nuclear’ on 50 Cent Over Gotti Post

Ja Rule, who had a close relationship with Gotti, said 50’s post left him seething. So much to the point that he almost took action.

“I was hurt, I was ready to go nuclear,” Ja said during the April 11 edition of Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club.

He also shared that it was DJ Premier who convinced him to keep a cool head.

“Prem said it best. He said, ‘Rule, you got to understand who we are and what we are. We are masters of self-defense.’ I don’t want to start trouble, make trouble with people. But if we gotta get into it, make it, I’ll f*****g end it,” he said.

“You protect your family, your home, your honor, your name, your reputation. That’s who we are as men.”

Gotti’s rise to the top began after he founded the iconic hip-hop label Murder Inc. And that label introduced several popular artists who are still making music today.

One of those artists is R&B legend Ashanti who is responsible for hit songs such as Foolish, Baby, and Rock With You.

For the first time since his passing, the former first lady of Murder Inc. opened up about Gotti and how she is handling his death.

“It was a lot to process. It was a lot of different feelings and emotions, and I think honestly what I said [in my tribute post] is really how I feel,” Ashanti said.

“I was really sad and I’m still sad that it ended like this because there was a time when things were just amazing. And I know my heart always just wanted peace for both of us and for us to be cordial. I wished peace for him. I prayed for him to be at peace and you just don’t really see this – it really just came out of nowhere.”
