Jack Harlow switched up his flow for his fourth studio album, Monica. After his three studio albums fell under the rap genre, he made the switch to Neo-Soul for Monica. But after seeing his first week’s sales projections, the Louisville native may come to regret that decision.
Jack Harlow’s Album Set For Disappointing Opening Week
Monica is barely set to crack the Top 40 in the first week. According to a post from Kurrco on X, Harlow’s latest project is set to debut at #36 on the Billboard Hot 200.
And of course, fans did not hold back on the Churchill Downs creator when seeing the projections.
“99% botted streams… industry plant tings if he didn’t have the industry machine behind this release, it would get zero coverage lol,” one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“That side of hip hop will never recover from 2024. This is crazy,” a second user chimed in.
However, some users felt like listeners were not giving Harlow’s album a fair shot: “I just feel like nobody is giving it a shot, either not listening to it at all, or playing it and not LISTENING. I genuinely like it a lot,” another fan said.

However, a disappointing opening week for Harlow doesn’t necessarily spell his demise. He can still recover in the following weeks. Just ask Rihanna.
Rihanna’s last album, Anti, ventured from her traditional pop style. That, combined with the fact that it was a Tidal exclusive release, equaled a slow start out of the gate as it debuted at number 27 on the Billboard Hot 100. However, it eventually recovered in its second week. Selling 166,000 equivalent units. It has become one of the most coveted albums of all time.
Do you think Harlow’s album can pull off the comeback in its second week?
