Cleveland Cavaliers star James Harden is set to honor late rap artist Nipsey Hussle with a new version of his signature sneaker.

Harden Pays Homage to Nipsey With New Signature Sneaker

Harden is set to debut the “Marathon” edition of his Adidas Harden Volume 10. A blue and white colorway that pays homage to Hussle’s brand, as heard through Nick DePaula on X. Harden will debut the new colorway on Tuesday night (March 31), when the Cleveland Cavaliers take on the Lakers in Hussle’s hometown of Los Angeles, California. It will also mark the seventh anniversary of his tragic death.

The shoe will be available for consumers everywhere on April 12 and is set to retail for $160.

Fans on social media were hyped about the upcoming release. As they flooded the quotes with marathon and fire symbol emojis. Will you pick up a pair of the Harden Vol 10 “Marathon” edition?

Harden, Nipsey Had Plans to Start Sports Agency

Nipsey was tragically murdered in front of his Marathon Clothing Store in March 2020. The rap star had a close connection to Harden through their hometown connection. Both were born and raised in Compton, California.

Harden has previously talked about his and Hussle’s connection. In a 2020 sit-down with Complex, Harden said that Nipsey had been at his home just days before his passing.

“A couple of days before he passed, I had rented a house in L.A., and he pulled up by himself—no security, no nothing. Beats [by Dre] set a whole dinner up,” he said. “They came and cooked at the house, and we were talking. He had a deal with a casino.”

He also revealed that he and Nipsey had plans to one day start a sports agency.

“So me, him, and [James’ manager] Zo and all the homies, we were just talking about it,” Harden said. “We just had an in-depth conversation, smoking a cigar in the back, just chopping it up about how big we can make this. And then one day I’m sitting back in Vegas, and I get the phone call, and I’m like, ‘It’s impossible.'”
