Jamie Foxx Rips Man For Hurling Slur During BAFTA Awards
Jordan and Lindo were presenting the first award of the night. When Tourette’s campaigner, John Davidson, audibly said “ni**er,” creating an awkward moment during the awards ceremony.

In the aftermath of Davidson’s actions, the BAFTA awards host, Alan Cummings noted that people with Tourette’s syndrome can sometimes use “strong language” as part of their condition. He also thanked the audience for their “understanding.” However, Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx isn’t buying that as an excuse.
In the comments section of a social media post of the clip from The Neighborhood Talk on Instagram, Foxx said that Davison “meant that s**t.” (via Complex)
He also added: “Out of all the words you could’ve said, Tourette’s made you say that?”
The outburst led to a lot of public outcry on social media. Especially after it was discovered that the show was pre-taped. And that part of filmmaker Akinola Davies’ acceptance speech where he said “free Palestine” had been nixed from the taping.
Amid the backlash for the racial slur being included in the final cut, BBC issued an apology. And said that the slur will be removed from the version on BBC.
“Some viewers may have heard strong and offensive language during the Bafta film awards,” BBC said in the statement (via The Guardian).
“This arose from involuntary verbal tics associated with Tourette syndrome, and as explained during the ceremony, it was not intentional. We apologise that this was not edited out before broadcast, and it will now be removed from the version on BBC iPlayer.”
