Of course, fans on social media went crazy as well.
“Before we get into the 1,000,000th debate about who had the better verses, let’s just appreciate two GOATs giving us this moment,” one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“I’ve listened to this song over a thousand times, and it always feels new each time. Em ate the whole beat and even JayZ on this masterpiece,” a second user chimed in.
Slim Shady wasn’t the only surprise that Jay-Z had for fans on night two. He also brought out super producer Pharrell. The duo performed a medley of their hits, including Excuse Me Miss, Frontin, Allure, and I Just Wanna Love You.
Jay-Z kicked off night two of his performance by paying homage to the victims and survivors of the terrorist attacks in New York City on September 11, 2001. His album dropped on the same day as the attacks on the World Trade Center. He also made sure to kick off the show at 9:11 pm. Shortly after, he brought out Slick Rick to kick off his performance. Alicia Keys also joined him on stage to play Empire State of Mind.
