It has been nearly a decade since Jay-Z dropped a new album. His last project, 4:44, dropped in June 2017. A new album has yet to be confirmed by the Roc Nation boss. However, several people have hinted that he could have new music on the way.
Jay-Z Shuts Down New Music Rumors
However, if you are a Jay-Z fan, prepare yourself for disappointment. Because the Grammy-winner has apparently shut down that speculation, according to Memphis Bleek.
In his latest episode of ROC Solid, Bleek spoke to Cam’ron about the rumors and revealed that JAY-Z also called him to shut down the speculation.
“That n***a called me, ‘Yo Bleek, when the last record you heard of mine that the album dropping?’ I said, ‘N***a chill. Let’s just call it wishful thinking.’ He was on the phone trying to find out if [Young] Guru was leaking some s**t to me. I’m like, ‘Nah, I can’t tell on my dawg Gu.'”
New York City artist Cash Cobain was another artist who appeared to confirm new music from HOV was on the way. Cash teased new music from the Black Album creator during a Billboard panel. Noting that the forthcoming music will “Shake The World.”
However, Cash Cobain revealed that he also recently received a call from the rap star reaffirming that he does not have any new music on the way.
When I was on the phone with Hov, he said that he is absolutely not dropping an album [laughing emojis] that messed me up tho,” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, on September 10.
Jay-Z has remained active in the music industry with his Roc Nation music label and partnership with the NFL’s Super Bowl Halftime Show. But it has been years since he has produced any new music of his own. It will be interesting to see when his next project comes. If one comes at all.
