JAY-Z to join LeBron James on season premiere of “The Shop”

JAY-Z is among the first few guests that will appear on the fourth season of LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s HBO talk show, “The Shop: Uninterrupted.”

As reported by Deadline, the Brooklyn Emcee will join the hosts on the premiere episode of the show’s fourth season, which will see them discussing everything from confidence on the big stage and parenthood to WrestleMania.

Following Jigga’s recent partnership with LVMH, his sale of Tidal to Jack Dorsey’s Square Inc., his NFT investments and the launch of his Monogram cannabis brand, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the discussion includes some business tips as well.

JAY-Z’s upcoming appearance on “The Shop” will follow his recent interview with The Sunday Times, which centered on him and his thoughts on legacy, race and social media among other topics. This time around, with the format of James’ show, the emcee will share his thoughts, barbershop style, among a group of some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment, specifically Latin artist Bad Bunny, WNBA star Nneka Ogwumike and marketing executive Paul Rivera.

James and JAY’s years-long friendship stems back to the NBA star’s rookie year in 2003. Hov has supported him, sitting courtside at many of his games, while James has rapped JAY’s bars and congratulated him on his many ventures via Instagram. Most recently, the Lakers player took to social media to reveal that the Brooklyn star sent him one of his rare diamond-shaped bottles of D’USSE 1969 Anniversaire.

“I just got back to the crib, and I got a package from my brother JAY, and I’m gonna open it up with y’all,” he said in the video. “It looks crazy, I wonder what’s inside. 1969 D’USSE Cognac — crazy packaging…They do say diamonds are forever. I guess the same goes for cognac is forever. 1969 anniversary — big homie, love and appreciate you!”

“The Shop: Uninterrupted” episode featuring JAY-Z will premiere on Friday (May 28) on HBO and HBO Max.
