Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label just added another major piece to its already star-studded roster — John Legend.
Roc Nation Adds John Legend to Roster
According to a Tuesday (March 31) report from The Hollywood Reporter, the singer has parted ways with his longtime manager, Ty Stiklorius, and her firm Friends at Work.
Legend has not come out and confirmed the news personally. However, Stiklorius provided a statement to the outlet. Confirming the move and expressing her gratitude for all they have created over the last two decades. As well as her excitement for what the future holds.
“Twenty years is a lifetime in this business, and I’m proud of the work John and I did together that was rooted in creativity, trust, love and ambition,” Stiklorius said in a statement to THR.
Stiklorius also noted that their partnership will continue through Legend’s profit and non-profit ventures.
“I’m energized by what’s ahead for both of us as I pass the music management baton to Jay Brown at ROC Nation. I continue to be John’s partner in the many for-profit and non-profit ventures we built together, and John’s biggest champion.
Legend joins a stacked roster of celebrities to be repped by Roc Nation. Among them are Megan Thee Stallion, Alicia Keys, and A$AP Rocky.
Legend’s last project, Get Lifted … Rising, came in August 2024. The studio album debuted at number seven on the US Billboard 200, selling 116,000 copies in its first week. However, the first week was not indicative of the project’s overall success. As of today, it is RIAA certified double-platinum after selling over 2 million copies.
