It is officially release week for J. Cole. His new studio album, The Fall Off, is slated to arrive this Friday, February 6.
JID Avoids Question About J.Cole’s New Album
Cole fans have been eating well. In addition to his new album, he also dropped off a four-pack of freestyles on a new mixtape titled “Birthday Blizzard 2026” to commemorate his 41st birthday last month.
On one of the freestyles titled “99 Freestyle,” Cole says that if real hip-hop is back, then JID’s next album should attain platinum certification.
“If hip-hop is back, JID should chart platinum / Anything less than that, it means y’all cappin,” he raps on the new song.
JID attended the 68th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 1). Complex’s Jordan Rose interviewed the Dreamville rapper on the red carpet. And asked him if he would be featured on Cole’s The Fall Off. However, JID was reluctant to confirm whether he is featured on the forthcoming album.
“It was good seeing you, Jordan,” JID said while dapping up Rose.
JID is one of the top lyricists in the game today. However, despite his talent, he hasn’t seen much commercial success. After Cole’s mixtape dropped, media personality Charlamagne the God said that JID’s commercial success falls on Cole’s shoulders. Because he is signed to his record label, Dreamville.
“It is interesting to hear the owner of a label talk like that when it comes to marketing and promotion; he can help with that,” he said. “J. Cole could’ve done more appearances with JID. He could’ve put his arm around JID a lot more, probably done some more records with him. There are ways J. Cole could’ve used his light and his stardom to amplify God Does Like Ugly.”
Do you think JID will be featured on Cole’s new project?
