Jim Jones Calls Out Cam’Ron, Swizz Beats Over Diplomats vs. LOX Verzuz

The Diplomats and the Lox are two of the most iconic rap groups of all time. And in 2021, the two New York City-based rap groups squared off at the world’s most famous arena, Madison Square Garden. This was probably the most hyped matchup of all of the Verzuz matchups. Because it was a star-studded prize fight with some of the game’s biggest rap stars. Jadakiss, Styles P, Juelz Santana, and Cam’Ron were on the same stage. So fans were willing to pay top dollar just to be in the building

Jim Jones Fires Off on Cam’Ron and Swizz Beats Over Verzuz

.But famed Diplomats star, Jim Jones, says that in the aftermath of the Verzuz, there was shady business going on in the background. He says Cam’Ron was in cahoots with Verzuz co-creator Swizz Beats. He believes Cam and Swizz cut a side deal to make sure the Diplomats leader got paid more than the other members.

“Swizz, holla at me. You backdoored me, gave that man some business that you ain’t give all of us,” Jones said.

He also added that if he were to do another Verzuz, Swizz would have to triple what he paid Jones for the 2021 battle.

“I need triple what I had last time,” Jones added. “The way we put that Verzuz on fire. We had that thing looking like a championship game […] You definitely got to give me triple, Swizz, and you got to give me some real business this time.”

He also called out Cam’Ron for being a “sucka.”

“He’ll say, ‘That’s me being a businessman.’ Nah, that’s you being a sucka doing backdoor shit. I stand on 10 toes and I break bread with my n****s I’m not one of them type of dudes,” he added.

“He mad ’cause he got booed and we lost. Let’s tell the truth. He got booed at the end! He forgot his freestyle.”

Verzuz started during the COVID-19 shutdown. Initially, it was a chance for legendary artists to showcase their greatest hits on Instagram Live. But it eventually ballooned into a major showcase. And per fan requests, it turned from an artist showcase to an artist battle. When the quarantine was lifted, the same fans that tuned in virtually, began to pack out arenas to attend. And that eventually led to a lucrative partnership with Triller.
