Jim Jones has never been known to hold his tongue. And lately, the rap artist has had a lot to say about his fellow emcees. His latest target is fellow New York City artist, Nas.
Jim Jones Says He Is a Better Rapper Than Nas
During a recent interview on Fat Joe and Jadakiss’s, Joe & Jada podcast, the famed Diplomats member said that he is a better rapper than the Illmatic creator.
“Check my track record, then check everybody else track record. Then go to Billboard and check all my entries then check all them n-ggas entries. I’ve been spanking a lot of this shit. Pull up Nas’ Billboard entries, then pull up my Billboard entries,” Jones said on the podcast.
Jones also cites that culturally he has had more of an impact on the game than Nas has. Jim notes that his son can’t name a Nas record while many of his hits have withstood the test of time.
“I was a superior Nas fan but when you get into the game you realize your idols are rivals,” Jones added. “My son can’t tell me one Nas record. I got a hell of a catalog. Me, Jim Jones, myself, gold records, platinum records, no Diplomats, nobody else, me, Jim Jones.”

Earlier this month, during a sit-down with Bootleg Kev at the 2025 BET Awards, Jones also took aim at Pusha T and Malice — better known as the Clipse. After fans raved about their new single Ace Trumpets, Jones remained unimpressed.
“What’s so great about it? It’s good in what? The nostalgic value of it? I don’t believe it. I don’t believe it, I don’t believe them,” Jones said.
“But that’s a whole other story and I don’t wanna downplay nobody’s craft… but I don’t listen to their music and never have. I don’t recall too many records that I can remember.”
