During a recent episode of his Talk With Flee podcast, Cam’ron revealed that Jay-Z took a shot at him on he and Kanye’s classic track Otis. And rapper-turned-podcaster, Joe Budden, appears to be a fan of the back and forth.
Joe Budden Reacts to Jay-Z Taking Shot at Cam on ‘Otis’
Cam’ron recalls that the catalyst for the shot was a comment he had made about Kanye just before their album was about to drop. And Hov wanted to make sure the Killa knew that his ear was to the street.
“I had distribution through Asylum Records at that particular time. And then Kanye did the song with Jay-Z, the first single they did for their album together. And we had just said something about Kanye. So on that song, that song probably came out a month or two after we had said something about Kanye. And he said in the bars ‘live from the Mercer, run on on Yeezy the wrong way I might Murk Ya. Flea in the G450, I might surface. Political refugee Asylum can be purchased,” the rapper said in a clip caught by @Big_Business on X:
During a recent episode of the Joe Budden Podcast, Budden called the lyric “brilliant.”
“The only person who got hit was the guy he was shooting at. Nobody knew a thing. Those are the best. This guy’s sick. It’s so brilliant that even the target has no choice but to say ‘that’s a slick mu***f****r,'” he said.
Joe Budden reacts to Cam’ron revealing that JAY-Z dissed him on ‘Otis Joe says Hov is the king of subliminal disses. When he disses you, you’ll know it but when you call it out, the fans thinks you’re crazy. pic.twitter.com/KZwwwia72S

However, Budden goes on to say that stories like this make his recent comments about the Kendrick Lamar and Drake Beef going “too far” seem hypocritical.
“This is fire, though. He’s a dick. But that’s personally why I will never believe all of the mature bull**t he was talking about with Frazier [Tharpe],” he said. “He does that s**t at the drop of a dime n***a. Could you imagine being in the studio, the Otis beat is on, you in the booth with Kanye, and you’re just gonna find somebody to shoot at. That’s him, he has a thing. The people who like to shoot at people just do it.”
