J. Cole blessed fans with a brand new four-pack of heat on Tuesday (January 27). His new Birthday Blizzard 2026 mixtape already has the industry buzzing.
Joe Budden Clears Name From Alleged J. Cole Beef
Cole had several interesting lyrics on the new project. One of which included his calling out grown man gossip. Specifically, rappers and athletes have now turned to podcasting.
“Grown men peddlin’ gossip of all things. All up in my ears I remеmber when it was rappin’ and ball-playin’. Now the bread and butter is yappin’ and parlayin’,” raps.
Later on the track, Cole also adds.
“Know, nowadays you can make a grip commentating. If you master two skills: either d**k ridin’ or hatin. Just look around, the hatin’ and the d**k ridin’ is blatant.”
One fan on X insinuated that Cole was calling out Budden on the track. However, Budden quickly shut down that notion and put fellow rapper-turned-podcaster Fat Joe on the hot seat.
“Oh, that’s gotta be for Fat Joe,” Budden wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Although the lyrics are pretty vague and could apply to anybody, it wouldn’t be surprising if Cole was in fact talking about the Bronx Native. When Cole announced the release date for his upcoming album, The Fall Off, Fat Joe brought up the fact that the rapper bowed out of a feud with Kendrick Lamar in 2024. And for that reason, he says he doesn’t want to hear any tough raps from J. Cole.
“I don’t look at him the same. He ain’t come outside. The f*****g sword is dull,’ Joe said (via JoeBuddenClips/X). “I don’t care what he spits. Because I been listening to him spitting, I always said that he is one of the greatest. But all of that is irrelevant to me when you start talking all of that gangsta s**t, and they call you to the yard, and you don’t step outside.”
Do you think that Fat Joe will respond?
