Drake has come out firing in his return to the rap game. On Wednesday (May 13), a new timestamp track from the Grammy winner titled, 1 Am In Albany surfaced on social media. And he is taking shots at several of his opponents on the track.
Joe Budden Responds After Drake Rips Him on New Track
One person who caught smoke was Drake’s longtime nemesis, Joe Budden.
“I watched this guy spasm with a puzzled face. Who knows which one of his bubble-shaped things I must’ve ushered through the double gates? Showed her the time of her life while broski having stomach aches, hearing bout good times at lovers lake and send her back to you while you sleep walking naked in another state,” he raps on the song.

The “sleepwalking naked in another state” appears to reference a January 2024 incident where Budden was arrested for indecent exposure. This came as a result of him being caught on a neighbor’s doorbell camera in the nude. In response, those same neighbors slapped Budden with a lawsuit over the incident. Claiming that the lewd act was retaliation because they complained about the unruly environment when Budden recorded his podcast.
So after the track went viral, Budden and his longtime cohort Ian Schwartzman went live on X Spaces to give their thoughts. Joe seemed to be impressed with the track. And noted that if Drake’s album sounded anything like the most recent leak, then he and Ian would have to paywall their upcoming podcast episodes.
He doesn’t directly address Drake’s claims that he slept with his girlfriend. Possibly holding out to respond to those comments once the album officially drops.
