Joyner Lucas is currently a free agent. Lucas is taking the independent route and announced the news to fans via Twitter.
“The face of a 2x Grammy nominated, platinum selling, stress free rich nigga,” he started. “Did I forget to say I’m now 100% Independant?. which means im no longer signed to ATLANTIC ?? great record label and great people so it’s always love. I just wanted to be back on my Independant wave ❤️.”
Joyner first inked the deal with Atlantic in September 2016. Here is what he had to say back then:
“Do you know how long it took for me to get here? This shit, you don’t understand,” he said. “I been at this shit since I was a motherfuckin’ kid. This shit mean I’m officially a fuckin millionaire.”
During his time on Atlantic he released the 508-507-2209 album. He also earned two 2019 Grammy nominations for Best Music Video for his visual for “I’m Not a Racist” and Best Rap Song for his featuring role on the Eminem track “Lucky You.”
