Nicki Minaj may be preparing to take an L in court. After failing to respond to a lawsuit judgment for an incident involving her husband, Kenneth Petty, it looks like the rap star could be forced to sell one of her properties.
Judge Intends to Force Minaj to Sell $20 Million Mansion
In a lawsuit filed by German security guard Thomas Weidenmuller, he alleges that he was assaulted by Petty backstage at one of Minaj’s shows. As a result, he sued the couple for $500,000. However, Minaj and Petty never responded to the lawsuit.
Per a November 24 report from Rolling Stone, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Cindy Pánuco said that she intends to order the rap star to sell her Hidden Hills estate, so that Weidenmuller can collect the judgment.
“My tentative is to grant this,” Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Cindy Pánuco said at an afternoon hearing. “I just want to make sure we’re getting it right.”
Pánuco said that they are waiting for one final piece of information to make things official. That is a statement from the Bank of America. This would confirm the remaining balance on Minaj’s mortgage since purchasing the estate in October 2022.
Weidenmuller stated that Petty attacked him backstage following a verbal dispute. And after being assaulted, he was left with a bevy of medical bills and long-term injuries.
“I felt a blinding pain in my head, neck, face, and jaw. And could tell in that instant that something was seriously wrong with my jaw,” he said in the suit.
“I now have five plates in my jaw, and my jaw has not yet been fully reconstructed. The doctors must still insert implants into my jaw as a part of the reconstruction process. In the interim, the doctors have inserted donor bones from a deceased person into my mouth to preserve space for the future implants.”
Minaj nor Petty has made a statement about the ongoing legal process in this matter.
