Tory Lanez took another L in court earlier this month. After a California Court upheld his conviction in the Megan Thee Stallion shooting trial.
Tory Lanez Appeal Denied in Megan Thee Stallion Trial
The news was confirmed by court reporter Meghann Cunniff.
“On appeal, Peterson contends the trial court committed several errors. We find no prejudicial error and, accordingly, affirm Peterson’s conviction,” the ruling reads.
However, even before a decision was handed down in his appeal , Megan’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, accused Lanez and his team of trying to push a “misleading narrative.”
“Despite Mr. Lanez being convicted at trial by overwhelming evidence (that included his admission of his guilt), he and his team – flanked by any ignorant person they can find – have pushed whatever misleading narrative they can,” Spiro said.
“One by one, their misleading statements unravel, and all that is left is the simple truth: he was convicted by overwhelming evidence, and those who seek to traumatize the victim of the crime should be called out as foolish bullies.”
Why is Tory in Jail?
Lanez is serving a 10-year prison sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot during an altercation in 2020.
The news cycle had appeared to slow down, and Lanez had appeared to have accepted his sentence. But that all changed in May. When an audio clip of the night in question began to circulate on social media. In the clip Megan is speaking to officers, and she says that she was not shot.
However, Megan shut down any speculation about what happened that night once the clip went viral.
“So at what point are y’all gonna stop making me have to re-live being shot BY TORY !? At what point are Tory and y’all FANS gonna stop lying? How much is the check to keep harassing me? Why is this happening EVERY DAY?” she wrote in a social media post.
“One minute he/ yall said I was never shot. So Now y’all are letting him play in y’all face AGAIN and say I was shot but it wasn’t him oh okay…?! I’m sick of this sh-t LEAVE ME TF ALONE!!!!” She added.
“HE AIN’T DARE GET ON THAT STAND AND DENY HE SHOT ME AND THAT WAS HIS CHOICE BECAUSE HE KNOWS HE DID THAT SH-T! IDGAF ABT A BLOG OR A BOT!!! WHY IN TF WOULD ME … MEGAN THEE STALLION HAVE TO LIE ON THIS MF ABT SHOOTING ME!”
Lanez is expected to be released from prison in 2033.
