A federal judge has reportedly ruled that Lil Durk’s 2021 song and music video “Pissed Me Off” can be presented as evidence during his upcoming murder-for-hire trial.

According to Rolling Stone, U.S. District Judge Michael Fitzgerald granted prosecutors’ request on Thursday (Aug. 13), allowing jurors to hear the track and view its accompanying video. Federal prosecutors argue that portions of the song help demonstrate Durk’s alleged willingness and ability to retaliate following the 2020 death of fellow Chicago rapper King Von.

In the song, Durk raps about having killers around him and putting up money for guns, vehicles and bonds. Prosecutors reportedly believe those lyrics are relevant to their allegation that Durk later financed a plot targeting rapper Quando Rondo.

Authorities claim Durk, born Durk Banks, paid five men to kill Rondo, who they say Durk blamed in part for Von’s death. Von was fatally shot in Atlanta following a confrontation involving Rondo’s associates. The alleged retaliation attempt against Rondo ultimately resulted in the death of his cousin.

Durk was arrested in October 2024 and has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Jury selection in the case is expected to begin Aug. 20, with opening statements potentially starting as early as Aug. 21.
