Juror Reveals That Jury Thought A$AP Rocky ‘Committed a Crime’ After Not Guilty Verdict

Rap star A$AP Rocky was facing up to 24 years in prison. The “Fashion Killa” artist had been charged with shooting his one-time friend and former bandmate A$AP Relli. The trial lasted about three weeks. But the jury needed less than two days to deliberate. And on February 18, they came back with their verdict. A$AP Rocky was found not guilty on all charges.

Jury Member Gets Honest About A$AP Rocky’s Acquittal

Rocky was offered a plea deal but ultimately rejected it. Which many believed to be a mistake. But the rap star was able to emerge victorious. Following the verdict one of the jurors said that most agreed that ” a crime had been committed.” However, they ultimately did not feel that there was enough evidence to warrant a guilty conviction.

“I think we did the best we could with the instructions we had and with the evidence we had. We were all thinking a crime had been committed. But the thing is, with the instructions we had, and with the law, we didn’t think there was enough evidence to convict,” the juror said.

“The feeling was that there was a gun. Unfortunately, they didn’t have enough evidence to convict on the charges that were handed down to us…I didn’t think that they had really convincing evidence it was a prop gun. It was kinda mysterious the way it disappeared and they couldn’t produce it as evidence. So, some of the testimony did not sound accurate or truthful.”

The juror also added that she hopes the rap star makes the most of his second chance. And that he will make better decisions in the future.

“I hope that in the future Mr. Mayers really thinks about his actions before he is upset with somebody,” she added. “He does have a lot to lose. He’s lucky, at this point, that we didn’t have enough evidence to hand down a conviction.”
