The highly anticipated trial of music mogul, Sean Diddy Combs began on May 12. After nearly two months of bone-chilling testimonies, the jury needed just two days to come to a consensus on most of the charges. But at the end of business on Tuesday (July 1) they were unable to come to a consensus on a verdict.
Jury Nearing Decision in Diddy’s Trial
The jury has come to a consensus decision on four out of five of the charges Combs is facing.
Those charges are:
Sex trafficking of Cassie
Mann Act Transportation of Cassie:
Sex trafficking of Jane Doe:
Mann Act Transportation of Jane Doe:
However, the jury remains hung about their decision on the RICO charge. By definition, they would have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Combs was running a criminal enterprise.
The world will have to remain on pins and needles for at least one more day. And while everyone waits on the outcome, plenty of social media users still had a lot to say.
“Had a feeling that they will not be able to decide on the RICO charge,” one person said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“I have a strange feeling the charges for Cassie will be not guilty,” another person said.
“They not getting that Rico but the other 4 probably guilty,” another user predicted.
Diddy used his power within the music industry to become one of the most influential people in the world. And with the connections that he has made, some believe that even if he is found guilty, he could evade prison.
Diddy’s longtime nemesis Suge Knight believes that President Donald Trump will pardon the music mogul if he is convicted.
“It might not seem like it when it’s all said and done, but I don’t think he has nothing to worry about,” Knight said. “I don’t think he’s worried because he’s gonna be federal, and if he gets convicted, Trump’s gonna pardon him.”
Jurors will resume their deliberations on Wednesday (July 2).
