R&B stars Usher and Justin Bieber reportedly had a confrontation during last weekend’s Oscar Awards. And to make things even more interesting, it happened at a party hosted by Beyoncé.
Justin Bieber & Usher Have Alleged Altercation
According to TMZ, a source close to the situation says that Usher was the antagonist. The Daddy’s Home creator apparently approached Bieber with “energy and anger,” and the two singers got into a “heated exchange.”
Fortunately, the two of them did not come to blows, but the outlet notes that it was an “intense” situation.
What was the reason behind Usher and the Biebs’ altercation? Another source close to the situation told the outlet that Justin has been on a path to “erase his past.” And that apparently included his former mentor. They also noted that the Baby singer has “always been rude” to the R&B legend.
Of course, fans on social media had a lot to say in response to TMZ’s account of the situation.
“I’m all for Justin lashing out on these people that took advantage of him as a young, famous kid,” one person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Damn. Explains why JB ain’t pop out at the Super Bowl performance,” a second user chimed in.
“A shouting match between Usher and Justin Bieber at an Oscars after-party is wild if true,” a third user remarked.
Usher was instrumental in Justin Bieber’s rise from viral YouTube sensation to global pop star. He helped Bieber launch his career by signing him to their joint venture label RBMG in 2008 alongside manager Scooter Braun.
Neither Usher nor Justin has released a statement in response to TMZ’s report.
