Reality star K. Michelle recently appeared on Shannon Sharpe’s talk show Club Shay Shay. And addressed Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James comments about moving the Memphis Grizzlies to Nashville.
K. Michelle Calls Out LeBron Over Memphis Comments
K. Michelle prefaced her comments by expressing her admiration for the hoop star and his wife, Savannah. But also said she didn’t necessarily appreciate LeBron making that suggestion. Especially given that Memphis is already in the midst of a struggle.
“I love LeBron; I love his wife. Think she’s amazing. I love that Black love; I love all of that,” Michelle said. “But to see him standing amongst other races speaking so badly about a city that’s already fighting. You’re going to take the Grizzlies from us, but leave us with Elon Musk?”
Earlier this year, James appeared on the Bob Does Sports talk show. And when asked about the wear and tear of an 82-game regular season, now that he is in his forties. He described how having to travel for 41 of those games makes it even more difficult. And used having to travel to cities like Milwaukee to play the Bucks and Memphis to play the Grizzlies each year to strengthen his point.
“Yeah, random f—ing Tuesday in Milwaukee, staying at the f—ing Hyatt at 41 years old. You think I wanna do that shit? Being in Memphis on a random ass Thursday,” he said, as caught by CBS Sports.
He also noted that others have also expressed their disdain.
“I’m not like the first guy even to talk about it in the NBA,” James added. “Like, we’re all like, ‘You guys have to move.’ Go over to Nashville, you’ve got Vanderbilt over there, you’ve got the f—ing NASCAR, you’ve got a stadium. Don’t they have a hockey team too? They’ve got everything.”
At the time of writing, James has not responded to K. Michelle’s comments.
