Ye recently hosted DJ Akademiks and offered an exclusive, and rather explosive, interview where he explained his recent antics. The interview was said to be born out of his jealousy for the ‘Not Like Us’ rapper.
‘He has been having meltdowns about Kendrick’s popularity and spent weeks orchestrating the latest publicity stunt,’ an insider told DailyMail.com. ‘He chose DJ Akademiks specifically because he knew it would ruffle feathers.
Kanye West seemingly tried to ruffle feathers with Kendrick Lamar during his unhinged interview with Akademiks, taking multiple swipes throughout.
‘Drake is a million times better than Kendrick and a million times more important,’ he said during the lengthy chat which took place in the US two weeks ago.
Ye claimed that he had no real beef with the California-native, rather the way in which media outlets discuss him.
‘I don’t like how they used Kendrick. And also, I don’t like him saying he did number one because I’m number one.’
Asked if he is jealous of 22-time Grammy winner Lamar, he said: ‘Yes, I was jealous that Kendrick was on Cardi [B’s] album, and I feel like that’s two different genres. Yeah, I’m jealous.’
Kanye Touched on Multiple Topics in Gut-Wrenching, Controversial Interview
West pulled up to the hotel room interview in a Black KKK-inspired hood and blouse and touched on topics like his unhinged tweets about Jay-Z’s children, beefing with Playboi Carti, Drake, Kendrick Lamar and even his relationship with ex-wife Kim Kardashian.
At one point during the interview, Ak asked Ye about his disparaging remarks regarding his late friend Virgil Abloh.
In response, West simply declared, “I’m evil.”
Ye’s recent actions have only fueled growing concern even beyond the music. He has openly praised Adolf Hitler and voiced full support for the Nazi party, positioning himself further outside the realm of mainstream acceptance. One has to wonder how much further Kanye West will push.
