After more than two decades in the rap game, rap star Kanye West is still moving the needle.
Kanye West’s ‘Bully’ Receives Massive First Week Sales Projection
West released his latest album, Bully, on Saturday, March 28. And it’s projected that the first week’s sales are astronomical. According to a post from WorldStarHipHop, Ye’s latest studio album is projected to debut with around 250K–275K first-week units. Including roughly 100K in pure sales.
Those types of numbers would likely also be enough to earn him the top spot on the Billboard Hot 200.

His last appearance on the charts came in 2021, when he released Donda. The project, which dropped on a random Sunday morning in August, earned 309,000 equivalent album units in its first week in the US. It also scored over 350 million US streams and moved 37,000 pure album units, debuting at #1.
Just three days into its release, Bully has already claimed several accolades. According to a recent post from Kurrco on X, West had the biggest streaming day on Spotify of any rapper in 2026 following the release of the album. It’s a significant feat when you consider that highly anticipated albums like J. Cole’s The Fall Off and A$AP Rocky’s Don’t Be Dumb were also released in 2026.
Of course, fans on social media had a bevy of reactions to Ye having the biggest rap release of the year so far.
“Say whatever you want, the numbers always tell a different story with Ye,” one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Congrats on the milestone. Big moment for 2026 so far. Keep riding that wave,” a second user chimed in.
“Doing this at his age is crazy; most rappers his age fall off,” a third user said.
