Kareem ‘Biggs’ Burke Says He’s Working On A Roc-A-Fella Biopic

The company officially ended in 2004, but the Roc-A-Fella empire’s impact within popular culture is still felt today. Since Kareem “Biggs” Burke’s return to the spotlight, The ROC co-founder has made it his mission to remind the world of the legacy he helped built. According to reports, Burke is turning The Dynasty into a movie.

Biggs recently sat down for an interview with REVOLT TV where he was asked if Roc-A-Fella will follow the Hollywood trend of turning iconic musical moments/figures into biopics.

“Yeah, I’m working on it now,” Burke responded before touching on the plot of the movie. True to the mafiosos that inspired the brand, Burke detailed a film that would take akin to the great gangster flicks. He explained how his story and that of his two business partners JAY-Z and Dame Dash will be told in mirroring cinematic style similar to The Godfather, Part II. It would outline the obstacles that marred their upbringing and led to the birth of Roc-A-Fella.

“It’ll probably be separate stories of JAY, Damon, and myself. Showing us as kids to understand what we’ve went through—the pain and hardships,” Burke said. “Being evicted, living in a shelter, and staying in people’s houses and floors for two years. JAY losing his father at four years old when his father left him. Dame losing his mom at 14 years old and having to put himself through private school… there were a lot of hardships and things we went through that actually gave us strength.”

Although there’s no official word on when or if this film will hit production, Burke has been making a name for himself within the film industry. In 2018, it was announced that Burke would be executive producing an HBO film titled O.G.

We may be seeing the return of Te ROC OGs in some form.
