Lefty Gunplay, who won a Grammy for his feature on Kendrick Lamar’s “TV Off,” is in hot water with the law.
Following his concert in Springfield, Missouri, the West Coast rapper was detained on Saturday at 8 AM in the morning. Details of the arrest are sparse, but he was charged with fourth-degree assault and was released after a 24 hour hold.
The arrest led to the cancellation of his next show on the tour in Topeka, Kansas.
Lefty performed as scheduled on Sunday in Nebraska, with his manager, Steve Lobel, condemning outlets for negative coverage.
“I wish all these media outlets would promote positivity but hey they say all press is good press,” Lobel wrote on his Instagram Story.

Lefty is a California rapper signed to JasonMartin’s (Problem) label, who rose to prominence after his 2024 feature on Kendrick Lamar’s GNX with “TV Off.”
His latest work comes on The Game’s Documentary 3, on the song “The Part” alongside RJMrLA, JasonMartin, Mark Lux, YG, and Mike & Keys.
