One of the most anticipated releases of the February 20 edition of New Music Friday was Baby Keem’s second studio album, Ca$ino. And among the features on his new project was his cousin, Kendrick Lamar.
Kendrick Lamar Takes Swipe at Young Thug
Lamar appears on the album’s fourth track, Good Flirts. And on the song, he takes a dig at Atlanta rap star Kendrick Lamar.
“To be honest, n***as love love too. Shit, I gossip with my b***h like I’m Young Thug too,” he raps on the song.

Last summer, an anonymous source began leaking Young Thug’s jail calls with his girlfriend, Mariah the Scientist. On the leaked phone calls, Thug aimed several of his close cohorts in the music industry, including Glorilla, Gunna, and Lil Baby.
This is not the first time that Kendrick has name-dropped the YSL founder in a song. On his 2024 hit record, Not Like Us, which targets Drake, Lamar accuses Drake of using Atlanta artists such as Young Thug and Lil Baby to boost his career.
However, in the fallout of their rap feud, the Atlanta rap artist said that the feud between Kendrick and Drizzy is the reason that hip-hop is in a “weird place” right now.
“I feel like I always wanted to do this type of music, and then I feel like rap is in a weird space right now,” he explained, as heard by @big_business_ on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Because it just seems like everybody’s beefing. … Two of the biggest artists in the world clash, and a lot of f*cking ripple effect came out after that. Weird. I feel like it’s time. I feel like we gotta take it to the next level. We gotta level up. Like, AI. It’s just so much. Everything in the world is leveling up except hip-hop.”
At the time of writing, Young Thug has not responded to Kendrick Lamar.
