Kevin Gates Brother BWA Ron Links Up With Rapper Flames OhGod from Akron OH

There’s some big things going on in little Akron, the hometown of Lebron is about to make waves yet again thanks to the city’s best and brightest prospect in the rap game: Flames OhGod. Following the success and critical acclaim of his national debut album Strictly Street Forever, Flames is giving the people even more of what they want in the form of an all new mixtape set to drop late February/early March entitled Tragedies & Trophies hosted by BWA Ron: brother of Kevin Gates, Official Dj and A&R of Gates’s BWA imprint.

The title is a fitting description of Flames’s journey, his well documented rise to local fame including numerous awards & nominations has been bittersweet. The accolades and recognition have offered little consolation in the wake of the losses of important people that helped make him who he is today, starting with the passing of his child’s mother, his father, and most recently his cousin and day one supporter Dar-shon Marsh who the mixtape is also dedicated to.

The pain is evident in his music, a quality often missing in a lot of new artists projects, his raw talent and clever wordplay also shine through in every song. He has often said that music is his therapy and it shows on heartfelt songs like “Don’t Bend Don’t Break” the first single off Tragedies & Trophies, and continues in songs like “Not Fair” & “Bloody December”.

However it’s not all mood music and melancholy, OhGod expertly balances out the project with something for everyone including the braggadocios “No Stress” the infectious upbeat “Definition of a Bad B****” and even a little something for the players with “Scumbag”. All in all this is a mixtape that plays and feels like an album, guaranteed to live up to the hype and definitely worthy of the BWA co-sign. There’s no denying that Flames OhGod is on a path to greatness and soon to be a household name not unlike LBJ and like Lebron, take the crown and bring it back home to Akron, Ohio where his story began. Release Date Feb 16th
